| ACTIVITY INFORMATION << return to Event Calendar Citrus Gleaning Day! Feb 27, 2010 Come help your community two-fold: using what we have (an excess of citrus) to meet an on-going need (feeding hungry folks.) On Saturday, February 27th from 8 - 11 am, please join Permaculture volunteers to glean citrus trees. All fruit picked will be donated to St. Mary's Food Bank. What's that? You have too much citrus on YOUR trees? Well, pick that and bring it along. It can be donated at the same spot. We should put this great fruit to use to help hungry families! Please bring gloves, a hat and wear long sleeves. Gleaning is dirty work! Anyone is welcome to attend (over the age of 18) who can climb ladders. If you bring children to help, please know it is your responsibility to keep an eye on them! With a team effort, we'll clear 50 fruit trees and make a great donation to a local food bank. Thank you!
